Joy and Pain
Today, as per the Constitution, the Electoral College met in their respective state
capitols to cast ballots for the next president and vice president of the United States. This 2020 presidential election has been laced with joy and pain. Voter participation was the highest on record. Yet the country is philosophically deeply divided. Hate speech and acts of violence rages. Since the beginning of 2020, three hundred thousand persons have died from the COVID-19 pandemic, however today vaccinations for this virus begun.
Eight years ago today, six-year-old Ana Grace along with twenty of first graders were
mascaraed at the Sandy Hook Elementary School (Newtown, CT).
Today Nelba Marquez-Greene, Ana's mother, is allowing the those who dare to scream, cry, grieve, and share collective pain via Twitter. Joy and pain. Sometimes all seems lost, yet all is not as long as there are those who are committed to the greater good in humanity. Love wins.
1 Thessalonians 5:16-17: Always be full of joy. Never stop praying.
